When setting up your email account in Outlook Express,
simply follow these easy steps:
|
Step 1: (Note: If this is the first
time you've run Outlook Express and the Internet Connection Wizard
runs at start-up, please skip to Step 3.)
Select: Tools>Accounts |
|

Step 2:
Select: Add>Mail |
|

|
|
Step 3:
You will be prompted to enter a Display Name.
This will be the name which identifies you in your outgoing mail.
Select 'Next'. |
|

|
Step 4:
Enter your E-mail address and click 'Next'. |
|

|
|
Step 5:
In both 'Incoming Mail' and 'Outgoing Mail'
replacing 'yourdomain' with your domain name:
(i.e. mail.thecyberimage.com)
|
|

|
Step 6:
Enter your User Name and Password which has
been assigned to you. |
|

|
|
Step 7:
Select 'Finish' to exit the Internet
Connection Wizard. |
|

|
|
Step 8:
After closing the Internet Connection Wizard
finishes you should still be able to see the Internet Accounts
panel. If you do not see this panel you can access it by following
the same process for Step 1:
On the menu bar select:
Tools>Accounts
You should see the email account that you just
created listed in this panel. |
|

Step 9:
Select your account and click Properties
on your Internet Accounts Panel. |
|

|
|
Step 10:
Select the tab marked 'Servers'
|
|

|
|
Step 11:
Make certain the box next to 'My server
requires authentication' is selected. |
|

|
|
Step 12:
Click 'OK' to update your settings. |
|

|
|
Step 13:
Try and send a test e-mail. If that email is
sent/received successfully, you're finished!
If you receive an error when you attempt to
send/receive an e-mail, continue to the Outlook Express
Troubleshooting section here.
